Ripasso wines are sometimes called the "poor man's Amarone", but Benedetti's Ripasso easily matches far more expensive Amarone wines.

What is the wine suitable for?

The wine is a perfect choice for dark meat, for example Danish Christmas dinner with roast duck. Also really delicious with juicy steaks and mature cheeses.

Serve the wine at approximately 18 degrees.

About the manufacturer:

The history of the Benedetti winery begins in 1924. After many years of hard work in Germany, Angela and Gaetano Chesini had finally saved enough money to buy a piece of land in Valpolicella. With their own hands they built a house and planted fruit trees and vineyards. 

Two generations later, Guiseppe, Davide and Simone took over the vineyard from their parents in 1995. They have all trained in viticulture and in 2003 they launched their first Amarone wine. Both their Ripasso and Amarone wines achieved great recognition from the start, and this was due to hard and dedicated work, especially in the cultivation of vines, manual hand-picking, the painstaking work of winemaking, and last but not least, skillful marketing. The family name Benedetti also means "blessed".

Today, the winery consists of 14 hectares of land planted with vines in the Valpolicella area, and the wines are exported to 15 countries.
